Benefits of Having a YouTube Channel

One very good reason to add videos and YouTube channels to your site is to give more content to viewers. When people get a lot of good content that is solving their problems, they stick around longer and like to come back and come more often. We have seen a lot of engagements that we would not otherwise have seen without the added video channel.

A good side effect of adding additional content is that it drives more traffic. People can now find you on YouTube and your site. Right now, we still bring more traffic from our site to the YouTube channel than in other ways, but we are starting to see some coming in another way. In the beginning, if you only have one food blog, it will probably be your results too, especially if you start putting videos on your most trafficked posts like we did. Another good side effect is that it enhances your brand. Having videos elsewhere takes your brand to another place that starts increasing the level of awareness and expertise you have.

3. Close personal connection

One thing that we have seen with the video is that it encourages a familiar level that helps in building a community. You can build a much more personal relationship with people and let them get to know you and see how you act / react to certain situations. There is something about watching a video where you can feel like you are with someone working on a problem or, in our case, cooking :). People I trust and like to learn from them usually have videos and I like learning and being involved in that way.

4. Another source of revenue

It can also add another source of revenue to your blog. Whether through YouTube advertisements or through a video course on your site, it creates more content or products that give you another income source that is always good.

5. Creative Outlet

This gives us a good creative outlet. Lacey gets to do something different from her photos and actually gets a little in front of the camera. It was nice to see that his sense of humor came out and his desire to make everything easier for the people. Also, Sean gets a chance to make and edit the film and he really enjoys it. It is fun to experiment in different ways. It would be really hard to pull in a blog post with photos.
